U7 Girls Show Grit, Spirit and Joy at Summer Tournament

June 2026 · U7 Girls · Tournament Report

What a day for our U7 Girls! From first whistle to last, the squad showed incredible heart — battling hard, adapting to new positions without a moment's hesitation, and doing it all with smiles on their faces in sweltering heat. This group of girls never stopped competing, and every single one of them should be incredibly proud.

Facing all-boys opposition once again, the girls refused to be fazed. They took on every challenge with the kind of resilience and determination that you simply can't coach — and it didn't go unnoticed. One of the referee's parents made a point of commenting on what a joy it was to see the girls out there loving their football, which says everything about the spirit this team carries.

The moment of the day came when Myley found the net — and the celebration that followed from her teammates was everything. Pure joy, pure team spirit. That moment captured exactly what this group is all about.

This was the team's second tournament of the summer, and the improvement on the previous one was clear. The experience of playing at a faster pace is invaluable at this age, and with plans for more girls' friendlies over the coming weeks, this squad will keep growing in confidence heading into next season. And with talk of entering the Wisbech girls' tournament section next year, the future looks very exciting indeed.
