Northside Girls Take Centre Stage as Flag Bearers for PUFC Women

It was a proud afternoon for Peterborough Northside as our U8 and U9 Girls were given the special honour of flag bearing at the Peterborough United Women's fixture against Loughborough Lightning.

The girls led both teams out onto the pitch, representing the club in front of a home crowd before settling in to watch a thrilling contest between PUFC Women and Loughborough Lightning. The match went all the way to extra time before Peterborough United ultimately lost out in a hard-fought encounter.

Beyond the flag bearing duties, it was a day the girls won't forget. They got to meet new mascot Petra Burrow, collecting autographs and posing for photos with the PUFC players. Several of the girls came away with prized souvenirs too, having various items signed including tops, water bottles and even football boots.

The whole experience gave the girls a taste of matchday at a professional club and a memory to treasure alongside their own football journey.

A big thank you to Peterborough United Women's FC for the invitation, and to all the parents who brought the girls along to make the afternoon possible. Moments like these are what grassroots football is all about!
